
Model citizen
Susan Fregeau, center, was named Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year at the organization’s annual banquet April 11 at the Gatherings at 601 performance and event venue. Pictured with her are State Rep. Chad Perkins with a House resolution honoring Fregeau, and Chamber President Tabitha Rardon. Fregeau also received a print done by the late Louisiana artist John Stoeckley. Fregeau is known for her work in preserving, cataloguing and sharing Louisiana’s history, including the website www.historic-la-mo.com. The site features the slogan “Where History Lives on Every Corner!” The chamber has presented the award each year since 1975.

The Bridge coffee shop was named Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year. The business at 403 Georgia in downtown Louisiana opened four years ago and lists its vision as “connecting community” while offering a safe, family-friendly environment.
