
PIKE COUNTY, MO. — NECAC is offering free food boxes to income-eligible Pike County families on May 7.The agency has a limited supply of 30 boxes, each containing about 20 pounds of produce. NECAC Pike County Service Coordinator is taking names of potential recipients at 573-324-2207 between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. Names will be taken in the order in which they’re received, and food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We are targeting families that are struggling with food disparities in our communities,” Dixon said. “If you believe you qualify, or if you know of someone that is struggling, please call us.”
The program is a partnership of NECAC, Families and Communities Together, the Missouri Department of Social Services, USDA and the Local Food Purchase Assistance cooperative.
