The 5th Annual Pittsfield Deer Santa Festival is 4-6 PM, Sunday. December 3, 2023, around the Pike County Courthouse Square.
Many of the event favorites will be returning including visits with Santa at the William Watson Hotel, a performance by S&S School of Dance, and the Pike County Art Guild’s Kids Craft activity at the Pike County Community Art Center. Santa’s Mailbox will be set up at the Santa house on the west side of the Square. Picture Pittsfield is planning some other entertainment surprises. The official Lighting of the Christmas Tree will end the evening.
Several local merchants will be open with specials and promotions. Picture Pittsfield plans to repeat the Christmas themed Living Windows display and invites all Pittsfield businesses to participate.
The Pittsfield Public Library will offer another one of their very popular Story Walks around the Square. It will be available all day on Sunday.
New this year, Picture Pittsfield is partnering with The Crossing and the Pittsfield Lions to bring added features to the event.
The Crossing will set up their large electronic Christmas tree on the south side of Washington next to the Pike County Government building. The tree will be officially lit that night for the season. There will be a manger with live animals, and a band performing Christmas music. If you attended The Crossing’s “Oh Christmas Tree” last year, you will be familiar with this event- if not, here’s your chance!
The Pittsfield Lions will have cotton candy, S’mores, and other goodies.
A detailed schedule of events is being developed and will be published once complete.
The Deer Santa Festival was launched in 2019 as a project of the community organization, Picture Pittsfield. Area businesses and organizations host holiday activities around the community and are promoted on the Picture Pittsfield website and Facebook page.
