
BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — The daughters of former Bowling Green High School industrial arts teacher Walter E. “Sonny” Elmore presented a historic gavel he made to Champ Clark Honey Shuck Restoration Inc., which oversees the Clark home at 207 E. Champ Clark Drive. The gavel is made of poplar and fir, some of which is more than 125 years old. It was used as part of the “Kangaroo Kourt” during the Bowling Green Sesquicentennial in 1973.
