
WINFIELD, Mo.– The Bowling Green Bobcats begin their quest for their first district title, as they take on the Lutheran St. Charles Cougars in the first round of the Class Four District Six Tournament.
Bowling Green heads into the contest with a 9-12 record, as they battled against a tough Warrenton team, but came up short and lost 12-8. Lutheran battled St. Charles Pirates and the St. Louis Patriots before taking on the Bobcats in district play. The Cougars won the first game against the Bobcats, 11-1, as they look to defeat the Bobcats for a second time to face the number one seeded Winfield Warriors, in the second round.
The Bobcats have a slight advantage over the Cougars, because Lutheran has already played two games this week. Bowling Green has been sharpening their skills at practice all week. While Bowling Green has been improving at practice, Lutheran has been playing tough opponents throughout the week.
Bowling Green scores an average of six runs per game, while they allow seven runs per game to their opponents. Lutheran scores an average of five runs per game, while they allow a flat eight runs per game to the opposing team. The Bobcats went 2-3 in their last five games of the season, while the Cougars are on a three-game win streak.
