
CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — The Clopton Hawks had everything working on Tuesday, winning big over Mark Twain 14-2
The Hawks got things started in the first inning when Tyler Jarrett singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. They then notched six runs in the fifth inning followed by the offensive onslaught came from singles by Peter Daskalakis and James Matheny, a walk by Tucker Salmons, and a groundout by Tyler Kuntz.
Jarrett got the start for Clopton where he surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Conner Eckler toed the rubber for Mark Twain. Eckler allowed seven hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out one. Jacob Dotson threw one inning out of the bullpen.
Clopton saw the ball well, racking up 10 hits in the game. Daskalakis , John Grillo, and Adam Lindsay all managed multiple hits for the Hawks. Daskalakis led Clopton with three hits in three at bats. Clopton also tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases, Lindsay led the way with four.
