
SILEX, Mo. — Even though Silex Owls gave up three runs in the seventh inning, they still defeated Van-Far 7-4 on Monday. Van-Far batters contributing to the big inning included Reece Culwell and Gibson Condie, all driving in runs in the inning.
The Owls got on the board in the first inning when Tyler Twellman singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Silex put up three runs in the sixth inning. Kameron Garcia and Hunter Hubbard all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Hubbard led things off on the pitcher’s mound for the Owls. He surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, striking out 12.
Culwell was on the pitcher’s mound for Van-Far where he allowed four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Cody Smith threw three innings out of the bullpen.
Hubbard went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Silex in hits.
Van-Far tallied seven hits on the day. Culwell and Condie each racked up multiple hits for Van-Far.
