
SILEX, Mo. — The Silex Owls watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-2 loss to Bowling Green on Tuesday.
Bowling Green open scoring on a single by Lucas Jennings and a stolen base in the first inning.
The Owls struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the offense of the Bobcats, giving up nine runs.
Bowling Green fired up the offense in the first inning putting up three runs.
The Bobcats scored four runs in the fourth inning. The top of the line-up featuring, Alex Miller, Zach Gibson, and Jennings each had RBIs in the big inning.
Miller was on the mound for Bowling Green. He allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking one.
Hunter Hubbard started the game for Silex where he allowed 10 hits and nine runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Chase Mullen threw two and a third innings in relief.
Peyton Miller, Mullen, Hubbard, and Ian Beckham each managed one hit to lead Silex Owls Varsity.
Bowling Green tallied ten hits in the game. Walker Chandler, Camden Fisher, and Jennings all collected multiple hits for Bowling Green.
