KJFM SPORTS — Both offenses were strong in Pleasant Hill/Western Wild Wolves 18-8 victory over North Greene .
The Spartans fired up the offense in the first inning, when Bradley Barfield was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Pleasant Hill/Western pulled away for good with seven runs in the third inning when Jaxen White homered on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Tyler Van Dyne singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Thorne Holcomb was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Bo Taylor singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The Wild Wolves added eight runs in the fourth inning with offense in the inning led by Alex Peters, Holcomb, Taylor, Aaron Vincent, and Kaleb Fresemeyer, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Blane Miller led the Wild Wolves to victory on the hill. Miller lasted three and a third innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out five. Vincent threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Lucas Turner took the loss for North Greene. Turner lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and seven runs while striking out two.
Pleasant Hill/Western launched two home runs on the day. White had a long ball in the third inning. Fresemeyer had a homer in the fourth inning.
Taylor, White, Fresemeyer, and Van Dyne each managed one hit to lead the Wild Wolves. The stole nine bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Andrew Wilson led the way with three. Pleasant Hill/Western didn’t commit a single error in the field. Holcomb had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
The Spartans tallied seven hits on the day. Jacob Hinsey and Porter Dossett each had multiple hits for North Greene. Barfield led North Greene with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
