
KJFM SPORTS — Bulldogs watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-0 loss to Elsberry on Monday. The Indians scored on a single by Sean Phillips, a single by Noah Taylor and a single by Gavin Marshall on an error, all in the first inning.
The Bulldogs struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Indians, giving up 13 runs.
Elsberry got things started in the first inning when Phillips singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Louisiana was a single by Brady Fisher in the second inning.
Kaden Kinsler led things off on the pitcher’s mound for the Indians. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking none.
Jack Logan started the game for Bulldogs. The right-hander lasted three and a third innings, allowing 11 hits and 11 runs while striking out three and walking one. Fisher threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Gaven Crabtree, Cameron Hunt, Brady Sheppard, and Fisher each managed one hit to lead Bulldogs.
Elsberry scattered 14 hits in the game. Marshall, Gavin Woodson, Kyle Turnbull, Gavin Reller, Taylor, and Phillips each had multiple hits for Elsberry. Marshall led Elsberry with three hits in three at bats. Phillips led Elsberry with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
