KJFM SPORTS — The Louisiana Bulldogs achieved their first win of the season this past Thursday against the Canton Tigers. The Bulldogs had a boost of morale with that win and are hoping to get another win tonight.
The Bulldogs came up on top of the Canton Tigers and broke the Tigers winning streak with the 5-2 win. Senior Jack Logan hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning. This was a huge play that put the Bulldogs back up on top for a nice victory over the Tigers. That was the end of the winning streak for Canton.
The Bulldogs were hoping to continue the winning streak Friday night but sadly missed the mark. They lost against the Pittsfield Saukees with an end score of 16-2. Sophomore Brady Sheppard pitched for most of the game and fans saw a change in the lineup of players for the ‘Dawgs. Louisiana is changing around lineups trying to figure out what strategy and players work the best for them.
The Bulldogs are searching for another win as they go against the Elsberry Indians tonight. The last time Louisiana came up on top of this match-up was in 2013 with a score of 4-0. They are hoping to do the same tonight. Elsberry is scoring an average of 6.7 runs per game compared to Louisiana with 2.7. The Bulldogs also allow an average of 6.9 runs per game and the Indians allow 4.2 runs. Some strategies for Louisiana to win this evening would be to make sure that they get a few more runs than usual and to stop the Indians from scoring.
