KJFM SPORTS — Pleasant Hill/Western Wild Wolves fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-1 loss to North Greene on Monday.
North Greene scored on a walk by Jacob Hinsey, a single by Brayden Faulkner, a single by Landon Benson, and a single by Ethan Clark in the first inning. Pleasant Hill/Western struggled to contain the high-powered offense of North Greene, giving up 11 runs.
North Greene opened up scoring in the first inning. Hinsey drew a walk, scoring one run.
Garret Hazelwonder pitched North Greene to victory. Hazelwonder lasted three and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six. Reese Scott and Hinsey entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Jaxen White took the loss for Pleasant Hill/Western. White allowed nine hits and 11 runs over three innings, striking out three.
Tyler Van Dyne, White, and Kaleb Fresemeyer each collected one hit to lead the Wild Wolves.
North Greene collected 11 hits on the day. Clark, Brody Berry, and Hazelwonder each racked up multiple hits for North Greene. Clark went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead North Greene in hits.
