
ST. CHARLES, Mo.– The Bowling Green Lady Cats begin their bid for a Class Three District Five crown, as they face the Metro Lady Panthers in the opening round.
The Lady Cats head into the Class Three District Five Tournament with a 12-13 record, and the three seed. The Lady Panthers head into the game with a 15-12 record, holding the sixth seed in the tournament. This will be the first time these two teams square off against each other, as they face each other in a win-or-go-home contest. Bowling Green was eliminated in the first round of districts last season, as they fell to the Wright City Lady Wildcats, 33-28. Metro took the loss in the second round of the district tournament last season, as they lost to the Cardinal Ritter Lady Lions, 75-21.
Bowling Green currently has a three-game winning streak, with the teams they have defeated during the streak being Wellsville, Clopton, and North Callaway. Metro got the win in their last contest, 59-20, over the Gateway Lady Jaguars. The Lady Cats average 45 points per game, while they allow 43 points on the defensive side of the ball. The Lady Panthers score around 42 points per game, while they allow 32 points per game to their opponents. Bowling Green is just 1-3 while playing at a neutral site, while Metro is 7-5.
