BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Our Eagle 102 High School Correspondent, Camden Fisher “Fish”, makes a super bowl predication.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles square off for Super Bowl 57 in State Farm Stadium.
Best Super Bowl Ever?
There is no doubt that this Super Bowl has the potential to be one of the best Super Bowls of all time. Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid goes head-to-head against his former team, the Kelce brothers, Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, face off for the biggest prize in football. Two MVP candidates facing off. What more could you want to cap off an exciting NFL season? The best team in the AFC and the best team in the NFC duking it out in a contest of high caliber offenses and defenses, Philadelphia fans against Kansas City fans, the Philly Cheesesteak and the Kansas City Barbecue, the City of Brotherly Love and the Heart of America, this will be an exciting matchup.
The Great Rivalries and Returns
Andy Reid has won a combined 247 games, while being a head coach for the Eagles and Chiefs, Reid led the Eagles to six division titles, five NFC title games, but was unable to deliver a Lombardi trophy to the people of Philly. However, he has carried the Chiefs to three AFC titles, and one Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54. Reid has the most wins as a head coach in Eagles history, and Chiefs history. He ranks fifth all-time among head coaches for wins in NFL history. Andy Reid will find himself in the Hall of Fame one day, as he is one of the greatest coaches in the history of football.
Travis Kelce, the tight tnd for the Chiefs, will face his brother, Jason Kelce, the center for the Eagles, in Super Bowl 57. Both of the Kelce brothers have won only one Super Bowl, Travis when the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in Super Bowl 54, and Jason when the Eagles knocked off Tom Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl 52. The Kelce’s’ have had great careers. Travis Kelce has over 10,000 receiving yards, in just 814 career receptions, to go along with his 69 career touchdowns. Jason Kelce has had a great career as well, he has been elected to six pro bowls, while his younger brother, Travis, has eight pro bowl appearances.
The MVP Caliber Face Off
The Chiefs have NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes calling the shots, but the Eagles have rising star Jalen Hurts. Mahomes did just win MVP for the first time in his career after a magnificent 2022-2023 campaign, where he posted 5,250 passing yards, and he threw for 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Hurts is not a quarterback to sleep on, he was in the top five in MVP voting this season, as he had 3,701 passing yards, while throwing for 22 touchdowns and only six interceptions. The young star from Alabama is a player to watch over the next couple of years. Hurts led the Eagles to a 14-3 record, and an NFC East crown. Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 14-3 record, and their seventh straight AFC West title.
The Prediction
Personally, I would love to see the Chiefs get Mahomes another Super Bowl, he is a great player and will be for years to come. My good friend, DJ Feldmann, is also a huge Chiefs fan, as are many people in Bowling Green. But I must root for our NFC East rivals, I believe that Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Miles Sanders, and that tough Eagles defense, can pull it off against Mahomes and the Chiefs amazing offense. I’ve got the Eagles taking home the Lombardi Trophy and proving that the NFC East is the best division in the NFL.
The Eagles will claim their second Super Bowl win, as they defeat another generational quarterback, like they beat Brady and the Patriots, Mahomes will lose the same way. The NFC East combines for the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history, with 13, and the Cowboys lead the way with 5 of those. Let’s go Eagles, prove the NFC East reigns supreme over the NFL by taking down the mighty Chiefs.
