Courtwarming ‘Cats: Will Fish be Bowling Green Royalty?

BOWLING GREEN, Mo.—The Bowling Green Lady Cats and Bobcats welcome in the Palmyra Panthers for Courtwarming.

The Lady Cats head into the contest with a 9-12 record. Bowling Green is coming off a loss to the Elsberry Lady Indians, 38-32 in EMO Conference play. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Indians at the beginning of the season 65-35. Palmyra heads to Bowling Green with a 18-5 record on the season. The Lady Panthers are coming off a win against the Monroe City Lady Panthers, 59-34. The Lady Cats squeaked by Monroe City, 40-39 when the two teams squared off. Bowling Green fell to Centralia, but Palmyra was able to get the win by double digits. The Lady Cats fell to the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs, 57-56, while the Lady Panthers blew out the Lady Bulldogs, 65-29. Palmyra got a blowout win over the Highland Lady Cougars, 71-46, while the Lady Cats fell to Highland, 52-39. The Lady Cats are currently on a six-game losing streak against the Lady Panthers. Bowling Green averages around 44 points per game, while they allow 42 points per game on the defensive side. Palmyra scores a whopping 60 points per game, while they give up a measly 43 points per game to their opponents.

The Bobcats invite the Panthers into their den with an even 9-9 record. Bowling Green is coming off a blowout loss to the Elsberry Indians, 69-45, a game in which they were only down three at halftime. The Panthers defeated the Indians 54-51, when they faced off. The Panthers head into the contest with a 16-7 record this season. Palmyra is coming off a win over the Monroe City Panthers, 47-29, while the Bobcats snuck out of Monroe City with a win, 53-49. Both teams barely were able to beat the Centralia Panthers. Palmyra was able to get the best of the Louisiana Bulldogs, 57-50, while the Bobcats were blown out, 72-55. Bowling Green has beaten the Van-Far Indians twice, but the Panthers fell to them in the championship game of the Palmyra tournament. The Bobcats currently have a six game losing streak against the Panthers, with their last win coming all the way back in 2015, same with the Lady Cats, they have not beaten the Lady Panthers since 2015. Bowling Green averages 52 points per game, while they allow 55 points per game to their opponent. Palmyra scores around 50 points per game, while they allow just 43 points per game.

The Courtwarming candidates are as followed; Freshman: Zander Fairchild and Karli Dean. Sophomores: Isaac Oberhaus and Natalie Hickerson. Juniors: Bleyne Bryant and Natalee Wells. The Courtwarming Queen candidates are, Grace Deters, a senior basketball player that just recently scored her 1000th career point against the Lady Indians. Kaelynn Wommack, a senior basketball player that is an efficient scorer and passer. Katie Houchins, a senior on the Bowling Green Dance Team. The Courtwarming King candidates are, Gunner Bryant, a senior basketball player who can score whenever he wants and grabs rebounds like prime Wilt Chamberlain. Nate Krumwiede, a senior basketball player who is a good shooter and playmaker. Camden Fisher, the senior basketball manager, who was also the softball manager, but we’ll see him on the pitcher’s mound when baseball season starts.
