LOUISIANA, Mo. — The history museum in Louisiana Missouri has a new leader.
Brent Engel is taking the reins as president from Judy Schmidt, who is retiring after six years in the volunteer role.
Engel is an Augusta Illinois native who lived in Quincy before moving to Louisiana in 1997. He got his love of the past from his father, who was a high school history teacher.
Engel is only the third president in the museum’s 31-year history. He is interested in building on past successes and coming up with new ideas for programs, fund-raisers and displays.
