MISSOURI — On learning of his appointment, Perkins said, “It is an honor for me to be selected for a committee that has such an important impact on the citizens in my district. I believe that I bring a wealth of knowledge that can be utilized by the committee and the legislature as a whole.” Perkins continued, “This knowledge is imperative because of the outsized economic impact that correctional facilities have on the 40th District. Both Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green and the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic, and Correctional Center in Vandalia employ many people in my district, and I am proud that I will be able to serve them more effectively in this upcoming session.”
The Committee on Corrections and Public Institutions is a standing committee that may consider and report upon bills and matters referred to it relating to adult and juvenile penal and correctional problems, the administration of correctional institutions, and the state penitentiary.
