
CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — Bring your family and friends to enjoy a beautiful autumn drive along scenic Highway 79 to Clarksville for the 44th Annual Applefest, Saturday and Sunday, October 8th& 9th. By 10 a.m. on Saturday, pick your spot along Historic Hwy. 79 to view the parade stretching from downtown to past the Appleshed. The Pike County Sheriff Department will lead the parade of school bands, floats, fire trucks, and Grand Marshall Jim Hansen.
The historic Apple Shed will be filled with craft vendors and endless treasures: hand sewn aprons, cornbags, dish towels, doll clothes, fleece blankets, pillows, pot holders, quilted items, wool items and crochet items. Baby bottles, sippy cups and tumblers. Bath bombs, scrubs, soaks, soaps. Ceramics and glass ornaments and suncatchers. Jewelry of gemstones, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, sterling silver. Home décor paintings, porch boards, signs, painted vases, wind chimes, wreaths. Gnomes and snowmen, Keychains, nick-nacks, phone cases, wallets.
T-shirts, sweat shirts and other clothing. Sentsy, Color Street, Paparazzi.
Plan on eating too much because the choices are endless. Food will be available at the American Legion, VFW and inside the Shed as well as along the street. BBQ, kabobs, chicken on a stick, pulled pork, nachos, tenderloins, chili, corn dogs, fish, pizza. For dessert baked goods, cookies, breads and pies, honey, fudge, cakes, jellies, apple butter, homemade ice cream. Thirsty? Lemon shakeups, coffee, sodas, water.
Saturday in the Shed starts at 11 a.m. with the Queen Crowning, 11:15 register for the Baby Contest held at 11:30 a.m. and Apple Anything Contest at noon with their auction afterwards.
The Apple Shed will host Raintree Arts Council’s annual Art/Photography show both days. The Clarksville Library will hold a huge Book Sale on Saturday and Yard Sales everywhere. The Lock and Dam #24 will be giving tours of the dam with unique views of the Mississippi River.
