BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Area residents have another option when it comes to food bags.

NECAC is distributing five thousand of the insulated storage sacks. You have to live in one of the agency’s 12 counties and be income-eligible.

NECAC has food pantries or distribution sites in each county. In these inflation-plagued times, NECAC says the idea is to help disadvantaged people use more of their money to fill the food bags rather than buying one outright.

For now, the bags are being stored in Pike County, but they will be distributed to other locations.
