
PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — The April local election saw a few upsets in the contested races, including a new mayor in Louisiana and two new faces on the Bowling Green R-I School Board.
Louisiana will have new mayor as Tim Carter defeated incumbent Kathy Smith. In other contested races in Louisiana, Bill Suddarth will serve as councilperson in Ward I and Rodney Dolbeare in Ward IV.
For the City of Bowling Green incumbents Mike Pugh and Mark Bair held on to their seats for Ward I and Ward II. The Bowling Green Board of Education will see two new faces as Tamara Scherder and Scott Hunt were the top two vote getters.
Rounding out the contested races on this year’s ballot was the Pike County Hospital Board where William ‘Bill’ Sterne got the top votes.
