PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — Pictured below, Pike County Service Coordinator Penny Dixon of the not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) accepts a donation from Al Himmelsbach during the 22nd annual Hardee’s Rise & Shine for Heat fund-raiser Feb. 11 at the Bowling Green restaurant. NECAC volunteers also collected donations at the Louisiana Hardee’s and locations in two other counties. Proceeds from the sales of $1 sausage and egg biscuits will be used for utility assistance programs in Pike County. The event was organized by the not-for-profit Heat Up St. Louis and covered 40 Missouri and Illinois counties with participation from 34 organizations. Preliminary totals indicate almost $700,000 was raised in the two states.
