PIKE COUNTY, Ill. — The Pike County Health Department (PCHD) is currently offering vaccines for all individuals 12 years and older living and working in Pike County, Illinois.
Individuals 12 years and up, receiving the Pfizer vaccine should plan to return in 3-weeks for their 2nd vaccination.
Individuals 18 years and up, receiving the Moderna vaccine should plan to return in 4-weeks for their 2nd vaccination.
Individuals 18 years and up, receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine do not need to return.
Upcoming COVID-19 WALK-IN vaccination clinics will be on the following dates and times. No Appointment Needed.
Thursday, October 28th 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Thursday, November 4th 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Thursday, November 18th 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
A parent/guardian must accompany their child.
BOOSTER DOSE INFORMATION
The CDC recommends the following groups should receive boosters of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine 6 months after the completion of their primary series completion.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine booster can be received 2 months after their initial dose completion.
- People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings,
- People aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions.
Additionally, CDC recommends the following groups may be considered for boosters of the Pfizer vaccine 6 months after the completion of their primary Pfizer series:
- People aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot, based on their individual benefits and risks,
- People aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting, based on their individual benefits and risks.
Bring your COVID-19 vaccination card when returning for a booster vaccination.
THIRD DOSE INFORMATION
The CDC is recommending that moderately to severely immunocompromised people receive an additional dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine to be considered fully vaccinated. This includes people who have:
- Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
- Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
- Advanced or untreated HIV infection
- Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.
Entrance to and parking for the vaccination clinic will be located in the gravel parking lot on the West side of the building, off of Adams Street. Watch for signs on where to enter the building.
A face covering is required to enter the building and there will be a 15 minute wait after receiving your vaccination.
