
KJFM SPORTS.– Bowling Green bounced back after a loss to Battle over the weekend and defeated Hannibal 10-0 in six innings of non-conference play. Sophomore Megan Graver picked up her first career no-hitter in the Bowling Green win on Monday night.
Graver was brilliant on the rubber on Monday, striking out seven and walking zero. The sophomore just missed a perfect game, one runner reached base on a defensive error to spoil what would have been a perfect performance.
Bowling Green secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. Contributing to the big inning included Sydney Charlton, Gracie Deters, Kennedy Grimsley, Tanner Turner, Meredyth Betts, and Avery Gamm. all driving in runs in the inning. Some key offense in the inning came from doubles by Charlton, Deters, and Turner, a triple by Grimsley, and singles from Betts and Gamm.
The Lady ‘Cats totaled 12 hits in the 10-0 short game victory. Grimsley, Charlton, Gamm, and Kaelynn Wommack each collected multiple hits in the dominating win.
Bowling Green will look to pick up a win on Tuesday night over EMO Conference opponent Montgomery County. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. in Montgomery City. The Lady ‘Cats will return home for a non-conference battle against Palmyra, first pitch set for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
