BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Ray Westhouse showed off a skill that’s made him the record-holder for a wheelie in a small car during the 26th annual Champ Clark Heritage Festival parade Sept. 11 in Bowling Green. The Pike County man once drove the vehicle almost 2.5 miles on two tires. He showcases the car to build awareness about Shriners Hospitals for Children. The festival also included a moving tribute to those who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a car and truck show, crafts booths, kids’ games and a “paint the street” exhibit. The event is named for the former Bowling Green lawyer and U.S. Speaker of the House who was a 1912 presidential candidate.
