KJFM SPORTS — After six years in red and black, Austin Leake is going back to his roots of blue and white as he was just named the new head football coach of the Mark Twain Tiger program.
Leake a graduate of Mark Twain High School, took on coaching positions at Bowling Green High School right out of college. He’s been a coach with both the high school and middle school football programs plus you can find him in the dugout and sidelines for the Bobcat baseball team.
“Austin is a great addition to our team,” said Mark Twain Athletic Director Cody McCann. “His energy and passion not only for football, but for Mark Twain, will allow him and us to do great things. We are very excited to have him as our head football coach.”
When Eagle 102 Sports asked Leake about returning home he said, “Just last week I was presented the opportunity to become the Head Football Coach at Mark Twain, my alma mater, and it was too great of an opportunity to pass on. I’m thrilled to be able to fulfill my goal of becoming a head coach and am blessed to be able to come back home and do it in the community in which I was raised. Go Tigers!”
“I’m thankful for an awesome six years here at BGHS where I was able to personally and professionally develop over time around great people,” added Leake. “I have absolutely loved getting to teach and coach the great kids in this community.”
