KJFM SPORTS — Bowling Green’s own Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
Jacobs received the news courtesy of his wrestling partner and sometimes ‘frenemy’ The Undertaker, Mark Calaway. After Calaway delivered the news during the video conference Jacobs was visibly moved.
“Are you serious about that?” Calaway responded to Jacob’s question, “That there’s no Hall of Fame without Kane. You’re the man.”
While Jacobs tried to form the words to thank Calaway, all of those on the video applauded.
Jacobs grew up in Pike County and graduated from Bowling Green High School. Following his high school graduation, he attended college in Kirksville where he majored in English Lit and played football and basketball for the Bulldogs. After he finished his wrestling career, Jacobs stepped into the political ring and was elected mayor of Knox County, Tenn.
The 2021 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be Tuesday, April 6, streamed exclusively on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network elsewhere.
