A message from the Van-Far School District regarding high school graduation:
After reviewing the graduation survey and taking into consideration each families’ schedules, Graduation will be set for Saturday, June 6th at 6:30 p.m. We will plan for an outdoor ceremony on the football field. If we are still under restrictions on June 6th, it will be parents and students only at the ceremony, and we will do a live broadcast for others to view. Students will receive a ticket for every adult listed on their Senior Survey, which would include their parents and/or guardians they live with. If there is weather that will interfere with the ceremony, we will postpone to Sunday, June 7th at 6:30 p.m. If weather does not cooperate on either night, we will have prepared a virtual ceremony as a backup plan that would be conducted on Sunday, June 7th at the same time. Immediately following the ceremony, we will parade the students through town.
To prepare for a potential virtual ceremony, we will plan a day for pictures/videos to be taken on the gym stage of each student. Parents will be welcome to come in and take pictures at those scheduled times. We will share a google doc with the students and have each student sign up for a time/date to come in. Students should continue to check their school email.
We will do our best to make the ceremony as traditional as possible for our students while keeping everyone safe. We will send out additional information with specifics about graduation and the parade as we get closer to the date. We appreciate your support and understanding as adjustments have to be made in considering the welfare of all.
