(KJFM SPORTS) — Gabi Deters will be continuing her college softball career at the University of Missouri.

The Bowling Green High School alum announced her decision to leave the University of Kentucky over the weekend. Noting on social media that she had long talks with family and coaches before making the decision.

Deters says she’s excited and looking forward to representing her home state donning the Mizzou Tigers uniform. She will sit for one season without losing a year of eligibility since the transfer is within the same conference.

The former Bowling Green Lady Cat catcher had an incredible high school career that included numerous accolades such as All-State distinction. She was a member of back-to-back state champion teams in 2017 and 2018.
