(KJFM NEWS) — Pike County, Mo Health Department has reported a fourth positive case of COVID-19. Officials with the health department, noted they will not be releasing any additional information at this time regarding patients who have tested positive.
Pike County Health Department Administrator Rhonda Stumbaugh said the reasoning has to do with HIPPA regulations. When an individual test positive, officials investigate to find out who all they have come into contact with and then contact those individuals directly. Those who test positive are either hospitalized or in self-isolation per the CDC guidelines.
The safest thing you can do to keep yourself and your family safe is to stay at home and only leave for essentials. When out for essential needs ensure you are following safe social/physical distancing and other preventative measures such as:
Avoid contact with others or stay at least 6ft away
Cover coughs and sneezes
Disinfect surfaces often
Wash your hands thoroughly and often
Pike County Health Department officials have established a tab on their COVID-19 page that will have updated case counts each day at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. You can find that information at www.pikecountyhealth.org/covid-19/
