Giant Christmas Cards went up all over Louisiana this past Holiday Season in a contest conducted by the Louisiana Community Betterment
Association. The cards were 2' X 4' in size and each business was encouraged to create their card with whatever they wished. The cards were displayed on easels outside of the businesses or in the business windows for all to enjoy.
"We had so much fun with the Scarecrow contest and so many businesses had fun doing that contest, we thought we would come up with something for the businesses to have fun with for the Christmas Season," said Diana Huckstep, LCBA Chairperson. "Folks enjoyed driving around looking at the Giant Christmas cards during the day and then were treated to many decorated homes and businesses in the evening," stated Huckstep
The cards were delivered to participating businesses the week of December 2nd. Judging took place the week of December 16th. Each card was judged on it's colorfulness, originality and Christmas representation.
The judges made their final decision for the Traveling Trophy to be awarded to the James Luckett of the PCMH Dietary Department. James went all out in decorating the entire dining hall and the outside of the building.
"There were some really creative and festive entries from all of the businesses that participated," said Ms. Huckstep. "We had great participation for our first year and look forward to doing this activity again next year," said Ms. Huckstep
