LOUISIANA, Mo. – The Louisiana Community Betterment Association has announced the winners of the 2019 Christmas Decorating Contest that the organization sponsored.
In years past, there were no requirements to be considered for the competition. Committee members found that many residents and businesses were not aware of the contest. So, LCBA decided to distribute registration forms to all the businesses, inviting them to compete for the cash prizes.
Residents were also invited to register, but were not required this year. It has been an open contest for some time. LCBA wanted residents to have the opportunity to readjust to the requirement.
The contest began on Monday, Dec. 2 and ran through Wednesday, Dec. 18. Judges have been combing the neighborhoods searching for the winners and have made their final decisions.
In the residential category, the winners include: Charlie and Barb Deacon, 1004 Georgia Street, first place; Mike and Kim Haddock, 1004 Georgia Street, second place; Jeff and Robin Elmore, 501 Peacock Drive, third place.
In the business category, the winners include: Dos Primos, 221 Georgia Street, first place; Fat Boys Restaurant, 123 South Third Street, second place; Hair Trendz, 513 Georgia Street, third place.
Letters were sent to each winner in the residential and business categories. A check presentation will take place for each winner at a later date.
