'Shop Louisiana Local' to be held on Saturday, Nov. 23

LOUISIANA, Mo. — Three organizations in Louisiana have joined forces with local merchants to present “Shop Louisiana Local” on Saturday, Nov. 23.

The program is the creation of Louisiana Community Betterment, the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce and the Unified Economic Development Council. The event will run from 8 a.m. until noon.

A "Shop Louisiana Local” passport will be given to anyone who wishes to participate. The passports will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 from any of the participating merchants. Passports will not be given out early.

Customers should take their passport to 10 or more of any of the 20 participating merchants, make a purchase and get the passport stamped. Those who meet the 10 purchase requirement for the "Shop Louisiana Local" promotion can then take their passport to the Chamber of Commerce office and be entered into a drawing for a gift basket of merchandise donated by all the participating merchants.

All eligible passports must be turned in to the Chamber office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019. Due to the nature of this event, absolutely no late entries will be accepted. A drawing from all the entries will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. to determine the winner. The Chamber office is located inside city hall, on the second floor, suite 207.

Participants are encouraged to wear their "ugliest of ugly" Christmas sweaters or Santa hat to be eligible for the specials that are being offered by the participating merchants on Saturday, Nov. 23.
