LOUISIANA — The Louisiana Elks Lodge #791 is holding an Elks National Foundation Hoop Shoot on Saturday, Oct. 26.
This will be an open shoot with no prior pre-qualification required (Missouri residents only). We do ask that your child be able to shoot the basketball as high as the hoop and an adult parent or guardian will be required to stay during the time each contestant is at the shoot.
Ages are calculated as of April 1, 2020 (because the National Shoot is in 2020) and are eight to 13 years. If your child will not yet be eight or will be 14 as of April 1, 2020, they are not eligible to compete. Registration times and other contest information has been available at the following schools: Louisiana, Bowling Green, Clopton, Frankford, BONCL, and St. Clement.
Registration is 8-8:30 a.m. for eight to nine-year-olds; 8:40-9:10 for 10-11 year olds, and 9:20-9:50 a.m. for 12-13 year olds. The contest for each group is directly following the registration time-frames. You may also inquire for information via email elkslodge791@gmail.com or by calling the Hoop Shoot Director Jim Pitzer Jr at 217-242-2102. The Hoop Shoot allows every boy and girl between eight and 13 in an Elks Lodge community the opportunity to participate in a fun, age-appropriate program that sets them up for future success. www.elks.org/hoopshoot/
