Missouri State Rep. Jim Hansen, R-40, of Frankford, received the Outstanding Service to Community Action Award during the Missouri Community Action Network Annual Conference on May 21 in Kansas City. Hansen was nominated by the not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) for his support of community services efforts and his work on getting approval of the Aspire Partnership Prison Homes Program, in which NECAC will sell houses built by inmates at the Bowling Green prison in partnership with the Carpenters Union of St. Louis. NECAC is a 12-county area social service, community health and public housing agency that serves the low-income, elderly, youth, disabled and disadvantaged.
