The Louisiana Community Betterment Association is gearing up for their annual campaign to raise the funds to complete the Christmas decorations for the community. To date, the committee has raised enough funds to purchase over 32 new snowflake decorations for the business district of Louisiana. “Our goal is to purchase enough new snowflakes that will cover the entire business corridor of Georgia St. and Third St.,” stated Diana Huckstep, Chairperson for the LCBA. “Since the Georgia St. corridor work has begun, the committee is very excited about having the new decorations,” stated Huckstep. “We can’t wait to see how lovely it will be!”
The community has been very generous, but there is more to be done. With the upcoming Bi-Centennial celebration, the committee decided to include a fund raiser for additional snowflakes. The LCBA committee decided on a “Lotto Tree” that contains 100 – $1 lotto tickets. Raffle ticket sales will begin Tuesday, June 19th. Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased at Hair Trendz on Georgia St., Mom & Pops Donuts and Diner on Georgia St., the PSN office at City Hall, Paulette Powelson at PCMH, Louisiana Library and any LCBA committee member. Tickets will also be available during operating hours at the Louisiana Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at Sunset Park on Georgia St.
This is a “One Winner Take All” raffle and the drawing will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30th during the opening day of the Bi-Centennial celebration. The winner does not have to be present to win.
