Groundbreaking Ceremony

for a NEW Champ Clark Bridge!

We are delighted to inform you the great grandson of James Beauchamp Clark, for whom the bridge is named, will be a special guest speaker during the ceremony.  J. Bennett Clark, who resides in the St. Louis area, is an honorary board member of the Champ Clark Honeyshuck Restoration, Inc., a non-profit entity dedicated to preserving "Honeyshuck," Champ Clark's home in Bowling Green.  James Beauchamp Clark is Missouri's only Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and was nearly elected President of the United States in 1912.

The new Champ Clark Bridge will bear the same name.

Parking is being directed by the City of Louisiana.  Please follow those directing traffic.

Interviews with all speakers, including MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna and Illinois Secretary of Transportation Randall Blankenhorn, will be possible.
