Two hundred years of Louisiana history will bring one lucky person 50 dollars in cash.

The Louisiana Bicentennial Committee is hosting a logo contest for the 2018 observation of the city’s 200th birthday. Theme of the event is “The Past Looking Forward.”

Electronic submissions may be made by visiting www.louisiana200.com. Printed submissions should be mailed or dropped off at City Hall of the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce office.

The logo chosen will featured at this year’s Fourth of July celebration and will be used on materials leading up to the 2018 celebration. The winner gets 50 dollars with an entry deadline of May 1st.

If you’d like to get involved in the efforts, the Bicentennial Committee is meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 25) at Lesley’s Hallmark and Cozy Corner Bookstore at 614 Georgia in downtown Louisiana.
