Bowling Green is making progress on replacement of sidewalks and storm drains on the city square.
Work that began in December is wrapping up on the northwest and southeast sides. The next step will be improvements on the northeast corner near the post office. That work is expected to take about a month. The final part of the project will be construction on the southwest side.
Concrete is being poured at the intersections to aid storm water drainage. Additional paving between the corners will be done this spring.
A spokeswoman says the city is appreciative of the patience shown by drivers during detours.
The project has a total cost of 690 thousand dollars. Funding is coming from a half-cent transportation sales tax approved by just four votes in April 2014.
