Pike County Commissioners have little wiggle room as final budget crunching gets under way Thursday (Jan. 14).
Revenue expectations are slightly higher than projected expenses right now, but things could change. Funding requests have been submitted by all but one county office. Further scrutiny is expected next week.
So far, there are no tax increases and no layoffs, but Sheriff Stephen Korte has said he may have to cut as many as 10 staff positions if the numbers don’t change.
Commissioners expect to have a 2016 budget in place by the January 29th deadline.
