Voter photo identification and highway funding are among dozens of issues that could come up in the Missouri legislative session which begins Wednesday (Jan. 6).
But legislators from the northeast part of the state have filed some intriguing measures, too. One would prevent school districts from starting classes before September 1st and another would limit processing fees on concealed carry permits.
Additional proposals have been submitted to change laws regarding eminent domain for electric transmission line projects, limited removal of the ban on carrying concealed firearms in higher education institutions and a declaration making parental liberty to raise children a fundamental right.
One senator hopes to require part of sales and use taxes to be designated for state road construction.
The legislative session runs through May.
