Floods and forecasts of more rain are prompting concerns in the region.
High water over the weekend closed Highway 79 between Elsberry and Winfield and Highway 161 just east of Middletown. Several blacktops in Lincoln County also were impassable.
In addition, water had flooded Riverfront Park in Clarksville and low-lying spots in Louisiana as flood warnings remained in effect.
The latest forecast calls for the Mississippi River to crest at six to seven feet above flood stage on Wednesday in Louisiana and Clarksville If the prediction holds, the flood would unofficially be the 11th-worst in Pike County history.
