Santa Claus is loading up his sleigh and taking a train to Louisiana.
The Kansas City Southern Holiday Express will stop at Louisiana’s 30th Street crossing at 4 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 12).
The 15th annual free event is part of a visit to 20 communities in seven states. Kids can tell Santa their wishes and then receive a free gift bag that includes a small teddy bear. The toy is named Darby in honor of one of the Holiday Express founders, who died earlier this year.
The train will include a smiling tank car named Rudy, a flatcar carrying Santa’s sleigh and reindeer, a gingerbread box car, an elves’ workshop and a red caboose.
The express will be in Mexico Missouri at 4 p.m. Friday (Dec. 11) and Roodhouse Illinois at 4 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 13).
