With 200 years of history, Louisiana has a lot to talk about.

The Bicentennial Committee will kick off the discussion at its first meeting on Thursday (Nov. 19). It starts at 7 o’clock at the Elks Lodge downtown.

Representatives of businesses, schools, clubs, churches and other organizations are invited to be part of the planning process.

Mayor Bart Niedner says all ideas are welcome. Louisiana will observe its 200 anniversary in 2018.
