A flash flood watch remains in effect for counties on both sides of the Mississippi River through late Tuesday night.
The National Weather Service says a slow-moving storm system is expected to bring up to five inches of rain to the region. Heavier amounts could be seen in some places.
The watch includes Pike and Lincoln counties in Missouri and Pike and Calhoun counties in Illinois.
A watch means there is a possibility for flash flooding. People living in low-lying areas and drivers are urged to take precautions.
