Bowling Green will play host to the annual North East Correctional Center Torch Run to benefit special Olympics.

The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with a run from the Pike County Courthouse to Bowling Green City Park. Prison employees will be joined by local law officers, residents and representatives of Special Olympics.

Participants will use the walking path in the park for the rest of the run. A barbecue will also be held, and is open to the public.
