The Louisiana Community Betterment Committee is pleased to announce the opening date for the Louisiana Farmer’s Market. Opening day is set for Wednesday, May 20th at 4:00 p.m. The market will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning on May 20th and run through Saturday, October 31st.
The extended season is only one of the new features for the market this year. The market has also been relocated to Sunset Park on Georgia Street, in Louisiana. “Our committee as well as our vendors are very excited about the move,” stated Diana Huckstep, Chairperson for the Louisiana Community Betterment Committee.
“Sunset Park is the ideal location for the Farmer’s Market. It is located on a major thorough fare in the community, there is plenty of green space, playground facilities for those who want to bring their children with them while they shop the various vendors, plenty of parking and lots of shade for those hot summer mornings and evenings,” said Huckstep.
Farmer’s Market is a wonderful avenue for our community to purchase fresh vegetables and homemade goods. This also gives our farmers an outlet to sell their overflow of crops.
Applications for booth spaces are now available. All items brought to the Farmer’s Market for sale must be homemade or handmade. Art and crafts are welcome if they are handmade. No factory produced items or animals are allowed at the Farmer’s Market.
Spaces are $5.00 each sale day. There is a seasonal rate of $100.00 for one sale day or $180.00 for both sale days. Applications are available by contacting Diana Huckstep at 314-640-4420.
The Louisiana Community Betterment Committee and the vendors are all looking forward to a tremendous new season.
