Louisiana and Bowling Green will hold National Day of Prayer observances Thursday, May 7th.
The Louisiana Ministerial Alliance is hosting a service at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the gazebo along the riverfront. If there is bad weather, it will be moved to the council room at Louisiana City Hall.
In Bowling Green, the faithful will gather at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the war memorial outside the Pike County Courthouse. If there’s rain, the event will be moved to First Presbyterian Church.
The first National Day of Prayer was observed in 1952 and was the result of a resolution passed by Congress and signed by President and Missourian Harry Truman.
