Banks, government offices and most schools will be closed Monday, January 19th, for the Martin Luther King holiday.
In addition, post offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery. Express Mail service will continue. Federal, state, county and city government offices will be closed.
King was murdered on April 4th of 1968 by a man who once lived in Northeast Missouri and West-Central Illinois.
Some churches and communities will honor the slain civil rights leader with programs that are open to the public.
