Just in time for Halloween, a freeze warning has been issued for Friday night (Oct. 31).
Forecasters say temperatures could dip into the low 20s by Saturday morning. The watch covers Northeast Missouri and West-Central Illinois. A freeze warning is in effect for counties farther to the west and north.
The record low for Pike County Missouri on October 31st is 24 degrees. For November 1st, it’s 19 degrees. Both were set in 1993.
Green thumbs are encouraged to cover or bring plants inside. High temperatures for the weekend will only be in the 40s and lower 50s.
This is also the weekend where the time changes. Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday. People are encouraged to set their clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
Daylight Savings Time will return next March 8th.
