Clear weather should help water levels go down on the Mississippi River.

Readings are expected to approach flood stage Thursday (Oct. 16) in Louisiana and Clarksville before starting to go down over the weekend. The high water has not had any significant impacts.

Pike County Missouri normally gets just under three inches of rain in October. Forecasters say precipitation chances are 10 percent or less through October 24th.

This coming Sunday marks the 42nd anniversary of the coldest recorded temperature in Pike County for October. The mercury read 16 degrees on the morning of October 19, 1972.

This Sunday’s low is expected to be in the mid-40s.
